What to Expect During a Voice or Swallowing Evaluation:
One of our Speech-Language Pathologists will obtain your medical history, review any medical imaging you may have completed prior to seeing us, and evaluate your specific voice and/or swallowing concerns utilizing objective measures, clinical knowledge, voice analysis software, and your personal input to help determine how to best serve you.
Occasionally, further measures - such as a Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) exam - are recommended to determine the safest diet and a customized rehabilitation plan for your swallowing difficulty.
Follow up therapy sessions are generally recommended to help address your individual concerns and challenges.
You will also be given a research-based home exercise program tailored for your treatment.
